There are two types of Vetus propeller shaft seal:

- Type ZWBH with triple lip seal: integrated mono block design, supplied with clamps and hose pillar. This should be lubricated once a year. Available for 25mm, 30mm and 35mm shafts.
- Type ZWB with dual lip seal and a front seal chamber packed with silicon grease. Available for 35mm, 40mm, 45mm, 50mm and 60mm shafts.

The assembly for both types includes a hose tail for connection to a water supply for lubrication, which may either be:
(i) by means of a water scoop kit (see below); or
(ii) by tapping a small amount of water from the engine's raw water cooling system

Inner bearing 25mm (old stern tube) ZWB2540 This inner bearing is compatible with older Vetus stern tube assemblies, which were supplied with a stuffing box and water scoops at the outboard end.
